Wanda de Kanter on her fight against tobacco

Thirty percent of cancer cases can be prevented if we stop smoking. Wanda de Kanter’s message was very clear as she took the audience of the Inspire2Live congress 2022 through the history of the cigarette and the impact it has on human lives. Inspire2Live is a special kind of medical conference as it works with patient advocates who are able to discuss matters at the same level as those representing the stakeholders in the medical industrial complex: researchers, clinicians, industry, government and payers.

In the context of the congress presenter Michel Daenen interviewed chest physician and chair of Youth Smoking Prevention Wanda de Kanter about her motivation to strive for a world without smoking. In the interview below, she explains how she became an anti-tobacco activist and what it takes to get the message across.
